GOYA GALLERIES AUSTRALIA PRESENTS
Artists that Roared
Peter Ferguson, Judi Singleton, Richard Birmingham,
Bruce Earles, Annie Howie, Pasquale Giardino, Mike Nichols,
Sarah Fawkner.
Goya Galleries of Melbourne Australia presents
a world debut of a collectible selection of Australian artists
from an art movement called "Roar"! Each of the artists
confidently emerged onto the Australian art scene in the early
80's as young innovative painters having established their own
"artist run space/gallery" which they entitled "Roar"
studios. The group of painters quickly became famous for their
rebellious, youthfully aggressive, bold and alternative art.
The Roar name was a roaring Tasmanian Tiger designed to make
one take notice and was used as a stylistic pun, a play on words
and was so entitled to bring attention to these artists, "raw"
with youth and energy. Roar created a gallery and art movement,
which, in effect made lasting changes to the way artists approach
galleries and develop their own paths.
Since then, their work has been highly regarded
by collectors and curators alike. Twenty-five years later, their
current pieces have suitably evolved maintaining their trademark,
bold colors and themes that attributed to their success of the
Roar movement in their homeland and which now is calling for
attention from an International audience during this upcoming
tour.
Goya Galleries, with a representative in New York,
Leslie Goldsmith of Art Associates International, LLC are looking
forward to the introduction of this extraordinary art movement
by actively exhibiting both Nationally and internationally.
